The Mass Transit Railway of Hong Kong, widely known as the MTR, is the railway system of Hong Kong that opened in 1979. It is operated by MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) and it has been very successful since then. It operates mainly in Hong Kong (seen in the map below), with investments in the public transport systems in other countries such as Australia (Metro Trains Melbourne) and London (London Overground). This website will focus primarily on the business operations of MTR in Hong Kong.
